Create a Starburst Background (Illustrator CS2)
1. Open a new Illustrator Document, any size will do. Set the color mode to CMYK NOTE: if you are working with RGB some steps will be different.
2. Draw a Triangle The best tool for creating a triangle is the polygon tool. Select it and instead of drawing out a shape just click once. This will bring up the polygon pallet. Choose three for the number of sides, then click ok.
3. Direct Selection Tool
Use the white arrow (direct selection tool) and choose the top point of the triangle. Then drag the top point up (hold down shift while dragging up) till you have a very tall isosceles triangle.
4. Use the Rotate Tool Use the black arrow to select the object then select the rotate tool. Click the rotate tool on the very top point of the triangle. You will see a blue icon where you have clicked. This becomes the center of the rotation.
5. Rotate the Object Hold down alt then click and drag out a second triangle. To continue the starburst click ctrl+D till your hearts content. This will duplicate the last move.
6.Add Color Add color to the starburst for the right effect.
